The Story
Why I Walked AWAY
For years I worked in government as a traffic safety officer. My job was to keep people safe on the roadways -- and I genuinely loved it when I could actually do it.
The problem was that every time my work conflicted with what what someone in someone else’s pocket wanted, my supervision folded. The politics won. The culture was toxic. And no matter how hard I worked or how much I cared, the ceiling was always right there.
"I realized I was working hard every single day to build someone else's system, a system that didn't have my back."
So I left. Not because I had it all figured out. Not because I had a safety net. But because I knew I could build something bigger on my own terms and because I wanted to show my kids that you don't have to do what everyone expects.
Go to school, get a 9-to-5, work your life away. That's one path. It's just not the only one.
I started Wolfe Media Group out of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware with a camera, a content strategy, and a conviction that authentic storytelling and smart systems could help entrepreneurs build real businesses without the corporate nonsense.
Not long after, I had an opportunity in front of me, a restaurant in South Carolina, with the right partners around the table. I said yes. Because that's what entrepreneurs do. They move when the opportunity is real.
